Crossogue Preserves is pleased to launch its new range of Sugar Free Spreads at Bloom, Dublin this year. Situated at stand 53 in the Artisan Food Hall from Thursday 29th May until Tuesday 2nd June, the new preserves will be on display to sample and to buy in the following flavours raspberry, strawberry, blackcurrant, plum and gooseberry. There will be marmalades of all cuts as well, which will all go under the new banner of, Sugar Free Spread.
The Tipperary based family jam making company is using xylitol as a sugar substitute for its latest batch of delicious creations. As well as containing far fewer calories than sugar, xylitol has health benefits; it fights cavities and is suitable for diabetics - the body does not require insulin to metabolise xylitol.
Xylitol is a naturally occurring carbohydrate, which can be extracted from any woody fibrous plant material. It has also been shown to help to prevent ear infections in children, sinus infections in adults, and asthma and allergies in people of all ages. All these health benefits make it a perfect substitute for sugar in the production of Crossogue Preserves’ new healthy offering. The new product will retail at X euro for a 500g pot.
Commenting on the launch of “Sugar Free Spread”, Crossogue Preserves’ Owner Veronica Molloy says, “We are really excited about introducing our new preserve product, which is delicious but simultaneously good for one’s health. We look forward to hearing how it will be received and have great plans to further our range of Sugar Free Spreads".
