Forget a New Year of fast, abstinence and torture and instead, think about positive choices such as great tasting food, gorgeous recipes, healthier options and even tips to help you stay feeling young. The Cookery School @ Donnybrook Fair has devised a January schedule of courses designed to help participants feel great inside and out – a much more realistic and achievable antidote to the indulgences of Christmas. Cold Turkey? We don’t think so when there’s fresh fish, fabulous seasonal foods and new and interesting vegetarian dishes to be tried and tested.
Choose from the following for a great start to the New Year
Fish Workshop - Join Donnybrook Fair’s general manager and executive chef, Niall Murphy for a hands-on class where you will learn how to select and use fresh fish with confidence. Some great new recipes and practical cooking techniques will help take the mystery out of preparing and cooking fish. 10th January from 7.00pm – 9.30pm (€75)
Eat to Stay Young -Forget the science and just think of the food at this demonstration class featuring delicious recipes and healthy tips to help you feel great – inside and out. Think mushroom ragout with a fruity Quinoa or spiced pear and ginger crumble. 11th January from 10.00am – 12.30pm (€60).
Vegetarian with a twist – two part course: Forget omelettes and stuffed tomatoes and think fabulous vegetarian starters and mouth-watering main courses that will be appreciated by even the most hardened carnivore. Vegetarian cooking has evolved greatly over the past decade and this hands-on course will help you to master recipes such as roasted vegetable strudel and aubergine, Quinoa and tomato bake. 17th and 24th January from 7.00pm – 9.30pm (€140).
