Newforge House is delighted to have won two prestigious awards:  Best Hotel Restaurant in Ulster and Guest House of the Year 2014. Guest House of the Year 2014 was presented at the Licensed & Catering News Awards at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on Friday June 6th. Just three days later Newforge scooped Best Hotel Restaurant in Ulster 2014 at the Irish Restaurant Awards in the Double Tree by Hilton, Dublin, Monday June 9th.
Newforge House said;“We are delighted to have won these two esteemed awards.  Newforge is a small family run Country House with food at our heart. Licensed and Catering Magazine is the leading hospitality trade publication in Northern Ireland and has been running its awards for four years. The awards are open to businesses and individuals across the entire spectrum of hospitality, including bars, restaurants, hotels and tourist attractions. This year’s event attracted more than 400 entries, all of which were independently assessed by Spotcheck NI.
Bill Penton, organiser of the awards and publisher of LCN magazine, said; “These awards have always been about recognising and rewarding excellence across the hospitality industry ... It’s a great achievement to be named as a winner or a finalist at the LCN Awards, it’s a great morale boost and it recognises the professionalism and creativity of the businesses concerned.”
The Irish Restaurant Awards are the largest and most coveted awards in the Irish Restaurant Industry.  Over 900 restaurateurs and industry players turned out to attend Ireland’s biggest ever Restaurant awards where Regional and All-Ireland winners were announced.  The awards process is detailed and thorough whereby nominated restaurants face rigorous scrutiny from the consumer, regional judges, a mystery guest visitor and finally the National Awards Academy.
Pádraic Óg Gallagher, President of the Restaurants Association of Ireland said; “This year’s awards have been the biggest, brightest and the best. They are the awards everyone wants to be associated with, and everyone wants to be a winner. As a testament to their success, we’ve seen a huge increase in nominations and votes since last year, with over 19,000 nominations for Ireland’s favourite restaurants, chefs, gastro pubs, hotel restaurants, restaurant managers and ‘foodie towns’ throughout the country. The Irish Restaurant Awards are all about celebrating those who have brought acclaim to the Irish food scene from abroad and who keep the restaurant industry thriving at home.”
