Townhouse Delights

The midland county of Roscommon is a gateway to all areas of the island of Ireland. The north, south, east and west are easily accessed from the county slap bang in the centre of the country. Roscommon Town is a vibrant market town, surrounded by fertile agricultural land and peaceful rural idyll.  A lively buzz pervades in the Town’s small streets. The free parking initiative is an excellent example of making it easy to use local  shops and businesses – an example the rest of the country would do well to follow.Right at the heart of all this, Gleeson’s Townhouse stands proudly at the top of the main thoroughfare. A gracious double fronted period property, once a doctor’s surgery. Now lovingly renovated and converted into Townhouse Accommodation with cafe and formal restaurant. Owners Mary and Eamonn Gleeson have built their Townhouse business over many years, with good local food always at the core of the ethos. Here you’ll get an old fashioned warm Irish welcome with a range of foods from home baked scones and a cuppa to casual dining st the characterful cafe and first  class wining and dining in The Manse restaurant. Overnight guests are in for a treat of a breakfast!Gleeson’s Townhouse is home from home. Sit outside at the garden tables on the pretty courtyard patio during the day. Or even better, as dusk is falling and evening quiet descends on this busy little town. Listen to the starlings talking as you sip a glass of wine. Heaven. While you’re here, don’t forget to wander down the road to Gleeson’s  Artisan Food and Wine Shop. An array of local produce, deli, wines and coffee to go.
