If you are wild about chocolate, then you should visit Wilde Irish Chocolates in East Clare. In their small factory, not far from the shores of the Lough Derg in Co Clare, Patricia & Con Farrell create deliciously mouth-watering chocolates that will make you drool. Other words that can be used to describe just how delicious these are might include scrumptious and luscious. Numerous industry awards are the definite ''proof of the pudding'. Chocolate is probably the one food that's practically irresistible. Here at Wilde Irish Chocolates it is truly as Oscar Wilde said, you can ‘resist anything but temptation’.
Even the exotic names of the Wilde products are a temptation. Hazelnut Duet, Seaweed & Lime, Midnight Mint. There's a huge range of handmade artisan bars, fudge, gift selection boxes and even sugar free chocolate bars. All the chocolates are handmade by the ''Wilde Bunch' in the small artisan outlet in Tuamgraney.
Take a spin out to this small village of Tuamgraney on East Clare's stunning Lough Derg Drive, to see where Wilde Irish Chocolates make all the wonderful confections. Here you can feast your eyes and your taste buds and experience the heady aromas at first hand, hear the busy hum in the background of chocolate being made, and taste the latest products in development. When Patricia and Con Farrell opened the factory in 1997, they had the single aim of producing great tasting chocolate.
Success followed with the awarding of five Great Taste awards in five years. They are proud of their various awards. Patricia and the team hand-make a range of 20 different chocolate bars from White Chocolate, through to Super Dark 80% cocoa solids, and even a 99% cocoa solids bar. If you like fudg, Wilde's have 20 varietie, from Triple Choc Chip and White Choc Mint to Irish Porter Fudge for you to taste. That's not the end of it though; they also make chocolate slices such as Rocky Road, Tiffin, Raspberry Caramel and many more.
