Grass Fed Beef and Lamb Products

For the beef and lamb available in the Market House, Sean Haugh sources Angus cattle and Charolass yew stock from North and West Clare. The stock is finished on the family farm in coastal Kilkee, Co. Clare. Fed on a grass-fed system, the animals graze and roam free, feeding on the rich in nutrient clover pastures that makes up the surrounding land. This combination of location and grazing results in beef and lamb products with an irresistible depth of flavour and tenderness.

Our Review of Market House Ennistymon

Father and daughter team, Sean and Fiona Haugh have put their considerable talents together to create a wonderful enterprise that provides its customers with top quality local food along with excellent hospitality, all under the one roof.

Also, the beef is dry aged for 21 days in order to further preserve this rich flavour. The flavour is just so, that hardly any additional seasonings are needed, providing you with an authentic taste. Sean has three decades worth of experience in sourcing excellent livestock, all processed and managed in house ensuring customers have clear and direct traceability back to the locality.

This element only makes up one part of what is such an exciting retail offering. Sean's daughter Fiona has developed the Market House as a destination for quality home produced food with local ingredients at its heart. With Sean's passion for creating fine quality meats combined with Fiona's retail background, they have successfully created an exciting shop and dining experience that has become a foodie destination for visitors near and far.

The Market House in Ennistymon has become an integral part of the bustling town of Ennistymon since its founding in 2015. Here locals and visitors to the area can get a taste of the best of what local food has to offer. The centre piece of the Market House is the display of fresh produce butchered and prepared by their expert in house team. Some of their signature products are a melt in your mouth 21 day aged Angus beef, spring lamb, dried cured bacon, ham and homemade sausages and black pudding. The black pudding recipe is produced in house using fresh ingredients. The foodhall also has a full production kitchen, creating an exciting mix of ready-made meals produced using their own house recipes. True homemade goodness at its best!

The Market House also comprises of a deli and cafe, where you can expect to enjoy more of the local food experience that is such an integral part of the business. Fresh salads, hot meals, quiches, pastries, crumbly buttery scones and desserts are served fresh each day. Highlights include a hearty chicken and mushroom pie along with the Haugh's very own steak burger or steak sandwich. A full range of gourmet sandwiches with all the fixings are available from the deli, you can even order pizza. Items can easily be ordered for takeaway too.

Fresh ingredients such as fruit, salads and veggies are grown in polytunnels on the family's Kilkee farm and used in the Market House when seasonally available, furthermore highlighting the Haugh family's commitment to sustainability. To supplement the fresh homegrown produce, the Market House also sources fresh seasonal herbs, leaves and flowers from local growers, Celtic Salads in Bellharbour.

The cafe is the perfect spot to meet up for morning coffee or lunch. Small groups can also be catered for in the private dining space.

Take home with you a bevy of local products with the dedicated shop in the foodhall. Fiona has diligently sourced great produce from the very best Irish artisan producers, providing customers with a great local food & drink experience to enjoy at home. Items include farmhouse cheeses, preserves, treats and much more. Keep an eye out for fellow Good Food Ireland® members such as Carrygerry House, Keogh's Farm and Janet's Country Fayre, which are all stocked in the shop. For gift giving, the Market House is the place to be. The team will happily create a bespoke hamper for your loved ones. A special and unique gift to suit all budgets.

The success of this venture is in large part due to the strong team that makes up the Market House.
