Our Review of Francesca Restaurant at Brooks Hotel

Brooks Hotel is tucked away in a small side street in Dublin's city centre. This convenient boutique hotel provides stunning culinary accommodation, with its fabulous buffet breakfasts each morning and a la carte Francesca Restaurant. The dining room here is cleverly situated at the rear of the building away from the bustling street, a little sanctuary all of its own.

As with all Good Food Ireland Approved Providers, Chef Patrick McLarnon is passionate about his sourcing and the menu reads like a lexicon of Irish artisan producers. Signature ingredients include Irish smoked fish,  house breads, west coast fish and shellfish, free range chicken and Irish Aberdeen Angus dry aged on the bone.

After that, the skills of the chef come into play. His sauces, rubs, and marinades transform the raw basics into heavenly concoctions. Organic and small farms are given priority in sourcing. Seasonal vegetables come mainly from an organic farm in the hills of Co. Wicklow. Desserts are all made in house and to die for. You'd expect a few temptations so make sure you leave room.

Enjoy it all in a graceful dining room setting with elegant table arrangements and relaxing muted colours. A well chosen wine list gives enough scope for something to match all the dishes and suit any taste. Afterwards, the hotel bar is a lovely place to kick back with a coffee and brandy or other after dinner liqueur. Brooks Hotel is a find among finds for those who want to be in the heart of things, in a hotel which plays to its strengths. Small is definitely beautiful here and the warm and friendly personal service of the professional staff  in the restaurant certainly  proves that.
