Everglades Hotel just outside the city of Derry is home to The Grill Restaurant. Surroundings are bright and stylish - an open plan room bathed in natural light, this space has elegant seating arrangements and table dressings. The menu focuses on all the local meats, fish, and shellfish the Hastings Group of hotels have sourced locally and are proud to serve.
A la carte choices include Rib Eye Steak from 28 days hung local Hereford Beef – totally melt in the mouth and full of flavour from the ageing. The charcoal grill in the kitchen was specially installed - hence the choice of restaurant name! Country Antrim Dorset Lamb’s Liver, free range pork chops and other wonderful local meats cooked over the coals are the specialities of the house.
Poultry lovers will enjoy the Lissara Duck and Irish free range chicken, served with their suitable accompaniments. There’s always a vegetarian choice on the menu too, along with a list of sides to accompany. You won’t go hungry here, that’s for sure. Desserts also focus on locally sourced fresh produce, farm ice creams, and artisan patisserie and baking. Irish cheeses are served with Robert Ditty’s Oatcakes and complimentary chutneys. Sunday Lunch here is a real treat and superb value for money. A groaning table of cold salad dishes, smoked fish, meats and cheeses, which you can graze on before the mains of roasted lamb, home glazed ham, roast rib of beef and pork.
