Overview

The village of Moycullen, just outside Galway on the Clifden road, is home to White Gables restaurant. Ann and Kevin Dunne opened here in 1991 and since then, have very firmly established themselves on the culinary destination map.

In 2009 Enjoy...from White Gables was born. A pretty as a picture food shop offering  customers the choice of enjoying White Gables delicious food at home. Chefs prepare, cook and bake fresh produce daily,  so you can experience real home cooked fresh food in your own home.  You can't help but be breathtaken by the gorgeous pastry counter - cupcakes, tarts and cakes, beautifully decorated and presented - extremely hard to resist. Home baked breads and scones, a fabulous deli counter for take out lunches and sandwiches and the ready to go foods mean queues at some times of day.  Worth the short wait though. Shelves hold a wealth of Irish and European artisan produce. Storecupboard necessities and specialities you need when you want to cook up a storm yourself.  Also find quirky kitchen items, like the vintage style logoed tea towels which are works of art in themselves. Frame one and put it up on your kitchen wall, just like they have done here in the small cafe adjoining the shop. You'll find aprons, tea sets and cups, coffee equipment and mugs, and many unusual items just begging to be bought and used at home,  or given as a gift to a food loving friend or relation. This higgledy piggledy little culinary shop is a gem of a find in a village situated on the main road to the west. Ann and Kevin have created a wonderful addition to the village for its culinary inclined residents - and a great stop off shop and cafe for those passing through on a visit.

Tom Durcan, craft butcher of over twenty five years experience, is a master of spiced beef. It has won him many honours. This fine Cork speciality is the underlining product at his butcher’s stall in the English market. Tom’s career began as a youngster, when he took a summer job in a butcher’s shop during school holidays. The experience proved invaluable. Working with an experienced butcher with his own slaughter house provided what Tom describes as a ‘fantastic education’ for the young novice in how to source animals, and the ground rules for good butchery.
