Connemara Coast Hotel

Overview

The Gallery at Connemara Coast Hotel is a showcase for the skills of the chef. This tiered level room is intimate in the evenings, with white linen and gleaming table settings adding their glamorous touch.  On long summer evenings, you can see Galway Bay through the windows.

This restaurant is the formal dining room,  where you will find the Chef's tasting menu on the reasonably priced Table d'Hote menu. You could start with some Clew Bay Smoked Salmon and Seafood Roulade followed by a seasonal soup like the Cream of Vegetable and Wild Garlic, which we enjoyed. You could top that with James McGeough's Connemara Lamb tasting plate, featuring rump, lamb mince burger and stuffed breast or the Slow Braised McGeough Belly of Pork and award winning smoked sausage. Fish lovers will enjoy Smoked Fresh Poached Haddock and Whole Grain Mustard Sauce or Connemara Kettle, a mix of fresh local seafood in Prawn Bisque served uniquely in hollowed out bread roll. Wines are chosen specially for the food, with a new list currently being devised featuring off the beaten track numbers from boutique wineries and organic producers. Enjoy all this fine wining and dining in a restaurant spread over two tiers looking out over that stunning view.
