Our Review of Cavistons Food Emporium

Peter Caviston is an amazing man! He has put together a fine choice of fresh Irish foods and artisan specialities at Caviston's Food Emporium. But this connoisseur, raconteur, bon viveur,  and whatever other adjective we can find to describe his huge personality, really doesn't need much of an intro. When you walk into this shop - you'll know what we mean. It could only have been put together by someone who knows and loves great food.

This is a simply stunning culinary shopping experience. A heartwarming find for any keen cook or diner. Caviston's Food Emporium shelves are filled with all that is good and great from the Artisan producers of Ireland and the world. There is a dedicated bakery, producing fine breads and delicious cakes, and a deli counter to die for. Cheeses and other goodies piled high.  Fresh fish and seafood make up a gleaming display toward the rear of the shop. Fine meats are here for the choosing. An organic greengrocer section provides all the accompaniments you need to whatever it is you decide to buy for cooking.

Fruit and vegetable displays outside under the awning tempt you into the shop in the first place. Expert advice from knowledgeable, helpful staff whose food enthusiasm is evident. Next door, Caviston's Seafood Restaurant takes whatever is best from the Emporium fish counter daily and serves it in simple style. A longstanding gem in Glasthule village, still going strong and staying young.
