The Jasmine Bar at Brooks Hotel Dublin

Our Review of Brooks Hotel Dublin City

It’s difficult to encapsulate the qualities that make a great hotel. Is it large luxurious rooms, exemplary service, the chef, the kitchen, or the superlative food? It's all these qualities and a little something extra that makes Brooks Hotel in Drury Street truly special. There are few true havens where you can stay within Dublin city limits. Arrival at Brooks Hotel, right in the heart of things for shopping and sightseeing, brings gentile peace to the bustle of the city.

Enjoy the efficient friendly tones of the welcoming reception staff. Before long you'll be in your room, relaxing in modern amenities and elegant style. Room sizes range from Classic to Deluxe to Executive, all with contemporary yet classic touches and all the facilities you need for business or pleasure. Bathrooms are streamlined and modern -with luxury toiletries in case you forgot yours.

Breakfast at Brooks Hotel is a breath-taking, with a buffet of home-baked breads, pastries, cakes, house muesli, porridge with Irish Mist or a full menu of pancakes, kippers and a traditional fry, all cooked to order. Provenance and quality is prioritised. Some excellent producers provide ingredients for this stunning array of breakfast dishes.

For dinner, Brook's Francesca Restaurant is cleverly situated at the rear of the ground floor, away from the bustling entrance. It’s a little sanctuary. As with all Good Food Ireland Approved Providers, Chef Patrick McLarnon is passionate about his sourcing and the menu reads like a lexicon of Irish artisan producers. Whatever you eat here, you will taste Ireland on the plate!

A pre-dinner aperitif or post-postprandial drink in the Jasmine Bar reveals a stunning array of whiskies of the world (over one hundred and thirty in all!). Brooks Hotel is Ireland's first member of the Great Whiskey Bars of the World and a regular meeting spot for the Whiskey Society of Ireland. Light bites and refreshments are also served here during the day.

The hotel has extensive corporate facilities. A screening room, together with four other meeting rooms provide state of the art conference requirements. The space can also cater intimate, boutique events, and private parties from twenty to sixty people. High powered business people rub shoulders with community book clubs and private celebratory events, and this is how the staff would like it to stay - a good mix of clientele and choice. Brooks Hotel has all the chic of a trendy boutique hotel, all the personality of a small, family hotel where the staff are genuinely happy to help. From map reading to taxi bookings - they are at your service. A true city gem.
