Lough Erne Loughside Bar and Grill Good Food Ireland

The Loughside Bar and Grill

The Loughside Bar and Grill at Lough Erne is an interesting concept in hotel dining. As Executive Head Chef Noel McMeel says ‘this is our gastro grill restaurant, showcasing the best of Irish grilled meats and fish. It’s used a lot by our golfers because of its time honoured fayre, plus there are changing rooms, a golf shop and sporty area close by. But it’s also a great favourite with our regular locals who come together here to enjoy great food and great company.

Our Review of The Blaney Bar

Noel McMeel, Executive Head Chef at Lough Erne Resort, describes the food at the cosy Blaney Bar as ‘A touch of the eclectic in a grazing style menu. Larger than side dishes, but not quite mains, made with our wonderful local produce.’

This is the focus of the Blaney Bar, to serve a menu which you can browse and sample and share if you wish. In surroundings to make you feel at home. ‘The Blaney is a cosy place to relax, a great place to chill out with the great views of the lake and comfy sofas, in a space which has lovely warmth.’ says Noel.
How right he is. From here you can see Castle Hume Lough and Lough Erne’s Faldo Championship Golf Course. Perch at the bar or take a comfy chair at the table. Pick from a selection of tasty little numbers like Irish glazed ham or a Free Range Scotch Egg made with the eggs of a local free range farm.

Salads swing from oriental inspired to traditional European. Mains include classics like Lough Erne’s Club Sandwich or some beautiful Irish Salmon. Signature dishes of Fermanagh lamb and beef will have you licking your lips. Desserts err on the side of homely and comforting, with Chef Noel’s Favourite Traditional Apple Crumble Tart and other familiar puddings. If you don’t fancy dessert, sample a fine selection of Irish cheeses on the cheese plate.

A good choice of coffees and teas, plus full bar service and a concise wine list are also available. Food producers are highlighted on the menu, always reiterating the connection to the foods of the region.
