The Basilico Restaurant in Oranmore holds an AA Rosette for culinary excellence. The restaurant dishes up authentic pizza, pasta, pannacotta and plenty more favourites besides.

Fabiano Mulas and Paolo Sabatini, owners and co-founders of the restaurant hail from Sardinia and Viterbo near Rome respectively and bring their passion for Italian food to the West of Ireland. They source the highest quality seasonal produce for their dishes which are a winning combination of local and Italian ingredients. Olive oil comes from Calabria while meat, fish, and fresh produce are sourced locally.

From antipasti to arancini, tagliatelle to tiramisu the dishes at Basilico Restaurant sing with the flavours and favourites of Italy. The pizza dough and pasta are made fresh every day in the kitchen and so too are the pastries and bread. The food here is fresh and flavoursome and there is a wonderful mix of carefully sourced Italian artisan produce and local ingredients.

Of course, being an Italian restaurant there is a terrific selection of wines which pair perfectly with the dishes. The wine list is updated each season with new additions to the wine cellar being made due to regular trips back to Italy to discover new and exciting bottles to bring back. The food is dished up in contemporary yet classical surroundings and there is a lovely relaxed ambience throughout. Basilico Restaurant really is a taste of Italy served with warm Irish hospitality.
