You’ll be welcomed by the lush pastures that border the private avenue as you make your way up to the beautifully restored Tudor-Gothic Manor House before you. The house features 12 en-suite bedrooms available for private hire along with a restaurant, bar and relaxing lounge areas. Dine in elegance in the atmospheric setting of the Oak Room Restaurant at Ballykealey House. Aptly named as the room is decorated with solid Oak panels along with a remarkable fireplace. Tables are set out with crisp white linens and beautiful table settings all of which will transport you back to the grand country house dining rooms of the past.

 

You’ll take an exciting journey through the foods of the region when dining at the Oak Room Restaurant. A selection of local suppliers from food producers to farmers are listed at the front of each menu. The culinary team at Ballykealey House place great importance on providing guests with an authentic local food experience. Menus are changed frequently as certain ingredients come in and out of season. Dishes are presented in a beautiful yet simplistic way. Allowing the local ingredients to take centre stage during your dining experience.

 

And what an experience it is! Browsing the menu, you can expect to find dishes including Pan fried Wexford Scallops, Roast Wicklow Farm Maple Cured Lamb Rump, and Pan Seared Skeaghanore Duck Breast to name but a few. Classic deserts such as Warm Spiced Apple Crumble along with a Lemon Tart with Malone’s Berry Compôte are irresistible! Delicious vegetarian options are also available across the menu.

 

Special occasions such as Sunday Lunch and Afternoon Tea are hosted in the Oak Room Restaurant and make for a delightful treat when meeting up with family and friends. Afternoon Tea is served on one Saturday each month.

 

*The Oak Room Restaurant is a very popular venue for small weddings and events and therefore may not always be available to dine in when visiting Ballykealey House. We suggest giving Ballykealey a quick ring in advance to check availability.
