Shortcross Gin Celebrates 5 Years
The small batch distillery has proudly been distilling and leading the craft gin charge in Northern Ireland since 2014 and in those 5 years Shortcross has retained the title of the most awarded gin on the island of Ireland.
So, how did Crossgar’s very own, Shortcross Gin climb their way to the top of a highly competitive market and where did it all begin?
Simple, it all started with a shared dream of husband and wife duo, Fiona and David Boyd-Armstrong.
Commenting on Rademon Estate Distillery’s latest celebration Fiona Boyd-Armstrong, Co-founder and Managing Director, said: “In 2014 we dreamed of being the first craft distillery producing hand-crafted super premium spirits in Northern Ireland. And so, the dream started with gin, a spirit we had always been enthusiastic and passionate about.”
Five years on, the craft distillery became more than just a dream for Fiona and David, it is now a way of life.
As a small family run business it has grown from strength to strength, releasing 6 incredible Gin’s with their limited releases, collaborations and ever expanding core product range, winning 30+ awards within their industry, including several of the highly coveted San Francisco World Spirits Medal’s as well as exporting and growing within international markets.
The 5th Anniversary marks a year that is truly significant for Shortcross Gin with exclusive new gin releases to be launched throughout the Spring and Summer seasons. Not to mention the highly anticipated, potential release of the distillery’s’ Single Malt Irish Whiskey later this year, a project which Rademon Estate Distillery have been quietly brewing, distilling and maturing for over four years.
The celebrations are never ending with a whole host of events and collaborations taking place at Rademon Estate Distillery. If you are looking for gin filled evenings and afternoons with a picturesque setting in the heart of the County Down countryside, add the following to your calendar now; Shortcross Gin’s annual Summer Blues Afternoon, World Gin Day Party, Pink Party and various artisan Craft workshops.
