Get Busy Gardening this Summer with the Good Food Ireland Collection
As May 18th approaches, the country takes its first steps out of restriction which means we can once again enjoy a visit to our Garden Centres, subject to Government Approval. Good Food Ireland Approved Members, Griffins Garden Centre in Dripsey, Co. Cork and The Pavilion Garden Centre in Ballygarvan, Co. Cork are ready and waiting to welcome local visitors back.
This re-opening of Garden Centres and other outdoor facilities marks the start of phase one in our economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Re-opening of these services is a much welcome development, as it provides us the opportunity to pick up our gardening essentials and to get busy in the garden. With early summer approaching, it's the perfect time to develop our gardening skills and to get those hanging baskets looking bright and cheery with beautiful blooms!

This multi-award winning destination garden centre and restaurant has been serving the local community and visitors for over 25 years. While the restaurant remains closed due to restrictions, you can visit and pick up an amazing selection of fresh flowers, plants and equipment to have your garden looking top notch this summer. Over 80% of their plants are grown on site in their nursery. The team at Griffins Garden Centre, will be on hand to offer sage advice. Margaret Griffin is a trained horticulturalist and has been sharing her knowledge and expertise over social media over the last few weeks. Her husband was a vegetable grower, now turning his hand to plants, flowers and shrubs on sale here. Griffins Garden Centre are open Monday-Saturday 9.00am to 6.00pm. The Pavilion Garden Centre, located just outside of Cork City, brings together good food, home interiors and greenery all under the one roof. This family run business had its start in 1932 under the guidance of John O’Leary and his greenhouse, which supplied fresh produce, primarily tomatoes to established retailers and traders in Cork City, including The English Market. The business grew and grew as it passed from generation to generation, now in the capable hands of Charlie O'Leary and his wife Vera. You'll find all you could want for making your garden a haven of relaxation and fun for the summer ahead. Browse the extensive collection of plants and garden furniture. The Pavilion also have an exciting food offering that has been running throughout the restriction period. Enjoy fresh breads from their in house artisan bakery, a delicious supply of ready meals, along sweet treats. All of these can be ordered through their online Click and Collect service.
