20/04/2017 - New Seasonal Spring Menu at Aniar
Spring has sprung and so has the new seasonal menu at Aniar. The Michelin-star, Galway based restaurant, is owned by JP McMahon and his wife Drigin Gaffey.
The food focus at Aniar is to create delicious dishes with locally sourced, sustainable produce and the latest daily five-course daily seasonal menu is the pefect example of this. Each local, wild and seasonal ingredient is treated with the utmost respect. The spring menu offers perfectly crafted offerings such as oyster, cabbage and sorrel; carrot, elderflower and chervil; and celery and pear sorbet.
Owner and Chef-patron at Aniar, JP McMahon said, "Spring as a season is always welcome. Many people think February is the start of spring, however spring at Aniar really starts in April, because that's when local, new-season vegetables and other produce becomes available"
The spring seasonal menu stays true to the ethos and the style of cooking at the award-winning restaurant. The technique and methods of cooking which are used at Aniar allows the local produce to speak for itself and focuses on highlighting the very best in all of them.
The latest seasonal menu is the perfect excuse to experience the outstanding service and surroundings at Aniar. The chefs regularly join the waiting staff to explain each dish and the details of those carefully selected ingredients. The new spring menu is available each evening from 6pm, a new lunchtime service on Saturday has also been added from 12-2pm and costs €55. The 10 course Aniar Tasting Menu is also available and costs €110.
