18/05/2017 - Good Food Ireland sponsor top International Journalists visit to Wexford
Good Food Ireland hosted over twenty top International food and travel journalists on Mr Jeffares Blackcurrants, Ballykelly Farm in Wexford on Wednesday and showcased the very best of county Wexford’s food produce and cuisine. The visitors were treated to a tour of Des and Margaret Jeffares’ farm, the only remaining commercial blackcurrant farm in Ireland and met with the owners, chefs and producers of locally approved businesses within the Good Food Ireland collection for a showcase lunch in the gardens of Ballykelly House. The journalists were in Ireland for the Travel Classics International Writers Conference held in Kilkenny supported by Tourism Ireland and Failte Ireland.
Local restaurants and food producers from the Good Food Ireland Collection, Cistín Eile, La Côte, Kelly’s Resort Hotel and Kelly’s Cafe, The Kitchen @ Gorey, Café Nutshell, Killowen Farm, Wexford Preserves, Ballycross Apple Farm and Button & Spoon joined Mr Jeffares Blackcurrants to serve up a quintessential Wexford food experience.
