Learn the skills required to butcher a pig and learn about all the different cuts. Discover how to cure meat to preserve it and make it last on this two day course based in beautiful Dingle.

The Experience Includes

  • Two 6.5 hour hands on butchery classes where you will learn a range of butchery skills and curing principles.
  • All ingredients and tools included with notes given to take home.
  • Meals and snacks throughout the weekend using the meat you butcher.

NB This experience MUST be booked through Good Food Ireland in order to guarantee all inclusions.

Time: 09:30am - 16:00pm

Duration: 6.5 hours on both days

Price: €320 per person

What Happens On The Day?

Upon arrival at Dingle Cookery School you will be welcomed by Mark Murphy who will explain the days' activities. You will each be given a station to work from and notes to follow and take home.  Over the duration of the two days you  will discover how to butcher a pig and learn about all the different cuts. You will learn how to use each and every piece of the animal, how to cook unusual cuts and offal, and how to cure meat to preserve it and make it last.

The meat you butcher will be used to prepare meals and snacks for you to enjoy throughout the weekend. You will also get to take home some of the produce for you to share with family and friends.

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase here online and we will send you a Good Food Ireland Gift Card with the experience details and booking information to you or directly to the recipient. Then you just need to check the information and book the experience by contacting the Good Food Ireland Experiences Team.

2. We will then send you a Gift Card for your chosen experience by post with all the details. The Gift Card is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Please note some experiences may need to be taken on a specific date. However should it not be possible to take up the experience on the date your Gift Card can be used for any other experience of your choice within the Good Food Ireland Collection.
