#RewardTheHeroes GoFundMe Appeal
REWARD THE HEROES
We're at home, temporarily unemployed like most, but staying safe and wondered how we can help. So we've set up a Fund to reward our Healthcare & Frontline Heroes and sometimes those forgotten, our Heroes in Supermarkets & Food Shops. NOMINATE YOUR HERO here they could then be gifted a €100 GoodFoodIreland Voucher, to dine out, take a cookery class, a gourmet getaway & much more. You will also be supporting so many small family businesses to jump start their recovery. Please DONATE as much as you can afford. Heroes drawn weekly at random. The more money in the fund, the more Gift Vouchers. Thank you.

WHO'S ORGANISING IT
We're the Good Food Ireland Team whom like most, have family and friends working 24-hours in Healthcare and Frontline Services fighting COVID19. We're staying in our homes here in Wexford and observing social distancing but very much want to help.
We all know, restaurants, pubs, cafes, country houses and hotels are now closed, which is crippling for these businesses. As the Team behind Good Food Ireland, we are at the coalface of this fallout and over the last 2 weeks have heard heart rending stories from so many of our Good Food Ireland Member Food & Tourism Hospitality businesses, who are mainly small family owned businesses all over the island of Ireland.
Good Food Ireland is a like-minded network with over 200 of these businesses, who through their shared philosophy are passionately committed to using Irish ingredients in their cuisine, sustainably supporting Irish farmers, food producers and fishermen, who so many have also lost much of their livelihoods. And as we know supporting local business and local food, drives local economies benefiting local communities, so your money goes even so much further. Good Food Ireland is the only all island network of its kind.
WHY DO WE WANT TO RAISE A FUND
We felt that if we could set up a Fund that would generate money to send a fabulous Gift of a Good Food Ireland Voucher to reward our incredible Frontline Heroes all over the island and give them something to look forward to, we would also help our Member businesses to jump start their road to recovery and support their families and employees.
A Good Food Ireland Gift Voucher offers so much flexibility. It can be used to Dine Out, Take a Cookery Class, Go for Afternoon Tea, Buy Local Food & Drink from our Speciality Food Stores or Artisan Food Producers, Take a Gourmet and Spa Break in any of our Country Houses or Hotels and much more. And as with all Gift Vouchers normal terms, with expiry dates of 5 years, will apply. You can find out more about our Gift Vouchers here on the Good Food Ireland website.
HOW IT WORKS
Any Donation no matter how small will help, it will all go into the overall Fund which will then go towards the Gift Vouchers. The total amount raised in the Fund will determine the number of €100 Gift Vouchers gifted to our Frontline Heroes.
Each week we will have a random draw from our list of nominated Heroes.
Remember the number of Vouchers gifted will depend on the generosity of people and the amount in the Fund. Those who do not receive a Gift Voucher will automatically go into the following weeks draw. A Hero will only receive one Gift Voucher. The weekly draw will be managed and overseen by Aidan O' Gorman, Sheil Kinnear Accountancy Firm in Wexford who has also volunteered his help.
Nominating Your Frontline Hero
If you wish you may nominate your own Frontline Hero, but please understand that not all nominations may receive a Gift Voucher. NOMINATE HERE.
Gift Voucher Draw Dates:
Friday April 10th
Friday April 17th
Friday April 24th

The cost of print of the Gift Vouchers and their postage to our Frontline Heroes is being covered by the Good Food Ireland Members who will receive the Gift Voucher in their businesses.
The Good Ireland Team with our families will happily pack and post the Gift Vouchers to our Heroes with much love and excitement. We just need the Funds now to #rewardtheheroes with these delicious Gift Vouchers.
We truly believe that we can get through #COVID19 if we all help and do it together.
Thank you for your support, please DONATE now.

UPDATE 27th APRIL 2020
We would like to thank all those who have so generously donated to our fund at this challenging time.
We would like to thank Aidan O’ Gorman of Sheil Kinnear Accountancy Firm for his generous voluntary support of our campaign and also his sons who took the videos of the draw from their home.
The fund is now closed.
31 €100 Good Food Ireland Gift Vouchers have been sent to nominated frontline heroes to say thank you for their immense efforts during Covid 19. In Good Food Ireland we so look forward to welcoming these Heroes to our wonderful Members when this is all over and life resumes to somewhat normal.
The onward benefit of your donated money will also contribute to the reopening of our small local food tourism businesses around the country, restaurants, pubs, hotels, cafes, cookery schools and others. Being an approved member of Good Food Ireland means they are passionately committed to using Irish ingredients and local food and drink produce, further contributing to the livelihoods of local farmers, food producers and fishermen as well as sustainably supporting local communities.
For every €1 spent its worth €14 back to the local economy and a great treat to reward our heroes.
So on behalf of Sue, Anna, Paul and myself I say a huge thank you to everyone, go raibh mile maith agaibh.
Stay safe. Stay well.

UPDATE 10th APRIL 2020
Well today we had our first draw to reward your nominated heroes with a €100 Good Food Ireland Gift Voucher. Let’s hope this gives them a nice little surprise when they get home and is something that they can look forward to.
If your nominated Hero has been chosen you will by now have received an email from Anna.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to the appeal and helped to make this happen.
With all the nominations sent in, unfortunately not everyone got a gift voucher, but for those who didn’t their names will go into our random draw next Friday.
We have posted this video of Aidan O’ Gorman, Sheil Kinnear Accountancy Firm who managed the draw from his home here in Wexford this morning and was ably helped by his son Eric who made the video. So thank you to both of them for their support for the fund.
Have a lovely Easter with your family and let’s all do our bit to beat this virus.
Thank you to every Frontline Hero and everyone who has shown even the smallest act of kindness.
Stay safe. Happy Easter.
UPDATE 4th APRIL 2020
We're coming to the end of Day 2 and almost €2,000 raised which is so wonderful for our Frontline Heroes. We've just read your nominations and the stories of your heroes and they would truly bring tears to your eyes. The almost superhuman response to help people and to save lives while everyday putting their own lives at risk. Stories of Doctors, Nurses, a Postman, people working in the clerical side of public service, Guards and shopkeepers and shop assistants.
We would love to give them all a €100 Good Food Ireland Gift Voucher. So we must keep this Fund going and show them how much we care.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity and if you could help spread the word of our appeal it would be so much appreciated.
Stay well and stay safe.
