TO MARKET, TO MARKET….

Europe is known for it’s magnificent Christmas Markets. In recent years, that trend has arrived in Ireland, at the many farmer’s markets spread across the country. No better time to visit them than just before this winter holiday begins,  when you want to pick up some delicious local food to put on the festive table. In Moycullen, The Forge Bar and Eatery has a regular weekly farmer’s market outside the pub throughout the year. Local producers gather every week, many of them supplying The Forge with ingredients for the all day menu. This month the market has an extra date in the diary, specially for  shoppers to stock up on all the essentials and tasty extras that make Christmas special . The extra market will take place on Monday 23rd December, a convenient date for last minute bits and pieces. Find the happy throngs of stallholders in the carpark outside The Forge. Browse the stalls and see what takes your fancy. If you are in the area and haven’t visited this market before,  or may be passing through Moycullen on the day – make it your business to stop off and introduce yourself to a sociable and convivial  way of food shopping.  The Merry Christmas buzz will be mighty!
