Hastings Hotels Serve Up Tasty Dishes For Eat Eel Week
The event aims to encourage both locals and visitors to eat Lough Neagh Eels, try something new and support the local fishing industry. With special menus designed to suit all tastes and budgets, and food events in restaurants throughout Northern Ireland, Eel-Eat promises to be a week for food lovers from near and far.
Howard Hastings of Hastings Hotels explains why Eel Eat Week is the perfect time to come along to try out the eels on their menus.
“Across our restaurants at Hastings Hotels we have designed two bespoke dishes using produce from our local loughs which we are sure our diners will love. The dishes are ideal for those who already have a love of fish and eels or those who are trying them for the very first time. Our great value seasonal food offers are a fantastic way of trying new and delicious dishes made from the finest local ingredients, at great prices.
“This year is a celebration of everything delicious about Northern Ireland and Hastings Hotels are well-known for being passionate about food and embracing the use of carefully selected local and seasonal quality foods to enable our chefs to create delicious dishes,” added Howard.
Foodies can choose from our smoked Lough Neagh Eel with pickled rainbow carrots and beetroots, Armagh apples, local radish, Comber early potatoes and cress or if they want to try another great local fish, the grilled Lough Neagh Pollan which is served up with local sautéed potato, Edamame beans, tomato, capers, lemon and parsley butter. These tasty offers are available from 25th June until the end of July, as part monthly theme of Seas, Rivers and Loughs, for only £10 each, including Tea or Coffee, in the Culloden Estate & Spa, Stormont Hotel, Everglades Hotel, Europa Hotel, Ballygally Castle and the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa.
