When you feel like kicking back, isn’t pizza everyone’s favourite food? There’s something about sinking your teeth into that base of real bread dough, oozing with tomato sauce and whatever topping floats your boat, that just says ‘chill out’.

Pizza is food for the Gods. Our pizza making specialist members know this only too well!

Kelly’s Café at Drinagh Retail Park in Co. Wexford is a casual dining addition to the luxury of Kelly’s Resort Hotel & Spa in Rosslare. The same strict standards of quality ingredients applies here, to a café menu availabe to eat in or take away. Homemade pizzas are top of that list. They come straight from an Italian pizza oven to your table or your door, whichever you fancy.

Bar Italia on Lower Ormond Quay in Dublin city centre is owned by Stefano Crescenzi of Dunne and Crescenzi, and business partner David Izzo. A lively, vibrant and authentic Italian Pizzeria. House pizzas here start with a 24 hour naturally raised pizza dough. Toppings include Marinara with Sicilian Tomato Sauce and anchovies, Diavola with Campagne Mozzarella and Tuscan spicy Salami and others, as well as Calzone, a traditional folded pizza loaded with tomato sauce and filled with Porchetta roast ham and goats cheese.

Pizza Bianche includes pizza toppings without tomato sauce. Bite into the oozing richness of Cream of Four Cheeses and Ligurian Truffle for a change. Bar Italia has a private dining room to seat 32 people for a party or work gathering – great idea with Christmas around the corner.

Italian food is family food at Fratelli’s, the casual Italian eaterie at Galgorm Resort and Spa. Pizzas are made here in the wood fired oven. If you fancy an evening out with the kids, this is the perfect spot to bring them. They get to ‘build’ their own pizzas, starting with the dough base and loading them with toppings of choice. Then they read the story of the Three Little Boars while their pizzas (and yours) are cooking. A lovely weekend treat for the gang.

A big shout, but we can see why the pizzas here have such a great reputation. PJ’s handmade 12 inch thin bread bases are made from fresh handmade dough, topped with organic meats and seasonal ingredients from the Betucci garden and polytunnel in Co. Wicklow.
