Good Food Ireland November News

It’s all going down this month in the Good Food Ireland membership. Just in case you’ve missed our news page, we take a quick look at what’s happening in the network in November.

Halloween may have been and gone, but the kids can still enjoy some witchcraft and wizardry at Airfield Estate. The ‘Room on the Broom’ Woodland Walk takes place daily till 6th November. This is where an imaginative children’s story comes to life!

Storytelling at Airfield Estate

Airfield’s free craft club offers kids the chance to make spooktacular and seasonal harvest decorations, running 12-3pm till Sunday 6th November. Both free events with your admission to the estate.

On Friday 4th November, the Halloween Shadow Mobile Makers workshop sees artist Jo May create some inspirational mobile sculptures using recycled materials. Saturday 5th November’s Halloween Goblin and Ghosts Puppetry Workshop will help kids create  macabre puppets to tell their own black magic story. Both workshops require booking, €10.00 per child or €8.00 for Airfield Estate members. More info on all kids events and booking here.

Whiskey lovers take note! A fantastic line up set to grace the capital for the Whiskey Live Dublin event at The Printworks, Dublin Castle, Dame Street on Saturday 5th November.

Fans of this hugely successful TV show filmed in Northern Ireland will love the opportunity to have a Game of Thrones themed Afternoon Tea in one of the most haunted hotels in Ireland! Ballygally Castle in Newcastle Co. Antrim will host this super social occasion meal from 2-5pm Monday to Saturday and 3-5pm on Sundays.

Ballygally Castle

Some exquisite treats on the menu for guests to enjoy while discussing their fave show with one another! And don’t forget to ask the staff about the haunted castle which is part of this hotel.  You might even be brave enough to chance a night’s stay in the haunted tower...

From the end of this month, Bodega in Waterford City will launch their new winter menu. Packed full of seasonal tastes made with local produce. Along with the new a la carte menu, there’s also a new cocktail menu, just in time to get you in the mood for the fast approaching Christmas season!  For those who like the grazing element of a meal, Bodega’s seven course ‘tapas style’ taster menu equals intense little explosions of flavour in each course, and includes a snazzy cocktail to start you off.
