Festive Round Up from Around the Country
The festive season fast approaches! Good Food Ireland is already in the spirit of things, with Christmas events and parties on the menu. If you fancy getting out and about in the run up to the holiday period, here’s a round up of what we have going on.
DECEMBER 8TH URRU CULINARY STORE, BANDON CO. CORK, SEASON OF GOOD WILL KITCHEN CUPBOARD SALE
A lovely early evening event in one of our award winning shops. Urru Culinary Store in Bandon, West Cork, is running it’s annual Christmas charity event on Thursday December 8th from 4pm-8pm.
This year’s theme is a Kitchen Cupboard sale of pre-loved kitchenwares and equipment in perfect condition, donated by customers and local residents. All proceeds will go to 10 local charities and community groups. Bag yourself a bargain or a Christmas gift for a food lover!
Airfield Estate brings a little touch of upbeat country living to the Dublin suburbs. This year, Overends Restaurant on the estate is hosting Christmas Party Nights for corporate or private groups.
The magnificent setting is approached by an avenue of twinkling lights, with the impressive Christmas Tree displayed outside the restaurant in the beautiful sunken garden. Less than €50 a head gets you a night to remember, with a beautiful dinner and music till late, in a destination which prides itself on its organic food production and sourcing of local produce. Wow! Also in December on the estate, The Airfield Christmas Experience has it all. Meet Santa and his Elves; enjoy Christmas market stalls with hot chocolate and mulled wine, the newest arrivals in baby animals, and a photo opportunity with Santa and his sleigh! Dinner and a Movie nights include a gourmet meal followed by a favourite Christmas movie. Check out the links for specific dates and movies. Booking essential. Lunchtime Christmas Banquets are bookable on any date, and served from 12pm to 3pm. Fine food, good craic and a warm Bushmills welcome awaits! New Year’s Eve at Bushmills is a very special night indeed. A gourmet New Year’s Eve dinner in the restaurant, followed by music till the wee hours as you ring out the old and ring in the new!
