DO YOU HAVE A WINNING RECIPE?

We all like to think we have a few winners in our repertoire when it comes to cooking a nice meal. But do you think you have a recipe which could actually impress a set of professional foodie judges? And if it gets the judges approval –  to make onto the menu of an established restaurant to be judged by the diners of the evening – could it impress them too?   If you think you have what it takes to create a signature dish to wow it’s way onto a proper menu – this is the competition for you! This year’s Listowel Food Fair, now celebrating it’s 21st anniversary,  has introduced a new competition for amateur home chefs. The first step is to submit your special recipe in wirting. A shortlist of eight dishes will then be chosen by the judging panel, which includes Dan Browne, Culinary Lecturer at Tralee Institute, and Sid Sheehan, Nutritional Therapist, plus local Listowel chefs. The final eight dishes will  appear as  ‘specials’ on the menu of  four participating restaurants in Listowel on June 20th 2015, during the Listowel Food Fair, which takes place from 18th-21st June. The restaurants will feature two dishes per establishment. The creator of the recipe of the dish that gets the most orders on the night in each establishment,  will receive a prize to the total of €200. Entrants must be in attendance in the restaurant on the night their dish is being served. Participating restaurants are all in Listowel town – famous hometown of the renowned Irish writer John B Keane.  All the shortlisted recipes will be featured online at the Listowel Food Fair website.

Best of luck!
