Bretzel Bakery (The)

1a Lennox Street, Portobello, Dublin 8

Not so far from the madding crowds of Dublin's city centre lies one of the cities most well-known and well-loved gems. The Bretzel has been a landmark in Dublin since the late nineteenth century and has long been synonymous with great breads and pastries. The bakery was strictly Kosher bakery until the mid 1990's, the Hackett family was the custodian until the end of the century, until ill health forced a sale. A new century - a new owner, William Despard stepped in to revitalize this institution, which is the Bretzel Bakery. Why not pop in for a little slice of Dublin history and a fine slice of Dublin bread?!
