Good Food Ireland where at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby event at the Curragh, Co.Kildare. It was all about combining the best of Irish food with the best of Irish racing, says Margaret Jeffers, Managing Director of Good Food Ireland. With Derek Davis, chairman of the Failte Ireland Food & Tourism Group commenting the highly tempting and tasty food that was on offer, the day was a big success. The day helped the Failte Ireland aim of selling and promoting Ireland as a food holiday destination. Tony Lenehan, Head of Food, Hospitality and Standards at Failte Ireland, backed this up with the ongoing development of a food tourism strategy within the organisation. With strong praise from veteran RTE news presenter Tracy Piggott, everyone had a great day and a great ‘food experience’.

Good Food Ireland Showcase to Launch the 'Country Cooking of Ireland' the new cookbook by Colman Andrews, the internationally acclaimed US food and travel writer, in The Merrion Hotel on Thursday March 11th 2010. The Country Cooking of Ireland features recipes of many of the Members of Good Food Ireland, which is now on sale to the public.

Good Food Ireland, for the first time was invited by the Northern Irish Tourist Board to host a Good Food Ireland Showcase Event in Belfast. This pioneering event is the embodiment of what we are striving to achieve at Good Food Ireland and we were proud to represent the high standards of Ireland's quality food offering in partnership with the three main tourism agencies on the island of Ireland; Northern Irish Tourist Board (NITB), Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland.

Cormac Kelly of Kelly's Butchers, Newport, Co Mayo joined a number of Good Food Ireland Members at Taste of Amsterdam and showcased his artisan black & white puddings that have come to fame and recently won the Best Black Pudding in Ireland Award.

Galway Volvo Ocean Race is one of the most extreme sporting events in the world. Boat 'The Green Dragon' has been supported by Good Food Ireland, following them from port to port, serving food. After stretches at sea of up to 45 days, the crew are ready for some good food from Ireland.

Good Food Ireland were invited to host a Member Showcase to to over 750 International Tour Operators, Irish Media and Trade at Meitheal 2009. Meitheal, the annual Irish Travel Trade Fair is organised by Fáilte Ireland in conjunction with Tourism Ireland.
As well as promoting their individual businesses members had the opportunity to showcase the importance of what we do in Good Food Ireland and how it all works, matching food producer and member to bring a whole new culinary concept to the overseas media and tour operators. It was an overwhelming success and many of the guests not even imagining that Ireland could have such good food and certainly amazed and delighted the Ireland was now pushing its food product and the showing the hotels and restaurants commitment to local food.

Good Food Ireland was invited by Tourism Ireland to represent Ireland and manage the Irish Showcase Restaurant at the Best of Britain & Ireland Trade and Consumer Show (BOBI), which took place in ExCel London from 26th - 29th March. 20 Good Food Ireland Members travelled to London to take part; from Hoteliers and Restaurateurs to Chefs and Food Producers, they all worked together to highlight and promote their business and the Good Food Ireland Network directly to the UK trade and consumer market.
Inis Oírr may be the smaller of the Aran Islands but Good Food Ireland member Maurice Keller is blown away by the beauty, the welcome and the food.
