Ditty's Home Bakery & Coffee Shop                << Back
3 Rainey Street, Magherafelt, Co Derry BT45 5AA

Bakery and Coffee Shop

With their emphasis on the handmade breads locally traditional to Northern Ireland, which range from wheaten and soda breads to griddle-baked fluffy soda farls (served toasted and topped with homemade jam) and earthy potato farls (crisp-fried in butter), it's no wonder Robert and Helen Ditty's local bakery is a popular spot for breakfast. They do also offer the likes of fresh fruit and berries with natural yoghurt to those customers who can resist the farls and fries. Lunch includes homemade soups, burgers and tartlets, alongside more substantial fare such as minute steak with red onion marmalade and fresh green salad. Their baking is in demand farther afield too; Ditty's oatcakes can be bought in prestigious delis throughout Ireland and the UK, and bespoke hampers and cakes for anniversaries and special occasions can be ordered directly from the bakery.
