The outstanding breadth of expertise made available by this group on a voluntary basis emphasises Good Food Ireland’s commitment to excellence in its pursuit to become the national icon for good food and hospitality in Ireland.

Redmond O'Donoghue - Chairman

Redmond O'Donoghue is Chairman of Failte Ireland and Chairman of Good Food Ireland. Additionally, he is Chairman of a Golf Strategy Review Group for the island of Ireland. He is an " ambassador " for  Cobh's Titanic Commemoration programme in 2012. He is a member of the National Executive Council of IBEC ( the Irish Business Employers Confederation ).

Chris Kane- Vice Chairman

Chris Kane held former Executive Directorships with Fáilte Ireland, the Irish Tourist Board (previously Board Fáilte) with responsibility for communications, External Affairs, Marketing and Development. He represented the Irish Government on organising committees for the Ryder Cup and Tour de France.

 
         

         
  Margaret Jeffares Managing Director  

Margaret Jeffares - Managing Director and Founder

Margaret has extensive experiences in tourism and marketing having worked in the industry for over 15 years. In 2000 she established herself as a full time tourism and development consultant. During her career Margaret help a number of directorships and currently sits in the Tourism Strategy Implementation Group as appointed by the Minister of Arts, Sports and Tourism. In November 2006 Margaret founded Good Food Ireland .

 
         

         
  Darina Allen Ballymaloe Cookery School  

Darina Allen

Darina owns and runs the internationally renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School in Co Cork. A graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Darina is a bestselling author on Irish Farmhouse cuisine and a leader of the slow food movement in Ireland. Darina was responsible for setting up Ireland's first Farmers Market and tirelessly promotes Irish food at home and abroad. She was awarded the Value Clicquot Irish Businesswoman of the Year in 2001.

Richard Corrigan

Irish Celebrity chef and chef / patron of the Michelin starred Lindsay House in London. Richard also owns Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill in London and more recently Dublin.  Richard is renowned for his dedication to local and artisan foods and is currently featured on RTE's with his own show "Corrigan knows food".

 
         
 
         
   
Peter Ward

Peter owns Country Choice in Nenagh, Co Tipperary. He is Chairman of Bord Bia Taste Council of Ireland and is also Chairman of Tipperary's Slow Food Convivium. Peter is passionate about promoting and support local food artisan and their hand made produce.

Robert Ditty Ditty’s Bakery

Robert is a third generation award winning artisan baker who's success is based on the principles of artisan baking, innovation and by using only the finest ingredients. Robert owns Ditty’s Bakeries in Castledawson, established in 1963 and Magherafelt and most recently opened Shanemullagh. Robert’s traditional oatcakes are very popular and they are just one of his products that are exported to some of the finest food stores in Ireland and the UK.

Jay Bourke Sherland Entertainments Inc

Co-Founder of Sherland Entertainments Inc (Restaurants, Bars, Clubs) which runs some of Irelands most successful and innovative restaurants, bars and clubs including Eden Restaurant,  The Market Bar and most recently Bellinter House, an 18th Century Palladian mansion on the River Boyne in County Meath which he has restored as a boutique country house hotel. For the past 15 years Jay has been a trailblazer in the industry and may be best known for ‘The Mentor’ and series on RTE Television.

 
         

         
  Hugo Arnold  

Hugo Arnold Editor & Food Consultant

Hugo is an independent food journalist and consultant. He works extensively with hotels, restaurants, retailers and manufacturers advising on food trends and developing new products and ideas. Hugo is the author if numerous cookery books, is editorial consultant to a number of food publications, including Food & Wine Magazine, has written food columns for the London Evening Standard, Financial Times and now the Irish Times. Hugo won a Glenfiddich Award for his innovative food writing in 2001. He also sits a member of the Bord Bia Tastes of Ireland.  Hugo is retained as a full time consultant to Good Food Ireland overseeing its quality assurance programme. He also edits the online magazine and writes for Good Food Ireland.
 
         

         
     

Bill Kelly Kelly’s Resort Hotel & Spa

Bill Kelly, the fourth generation Kelly to run the esteemed holiday destination hotel, returned to run the family business Kelly’s Resort Hotel & Spa, on completion of his training at Switzerland’s famous hotel school in Lausanne. Since he and his wife Isabelle took the helm in 1987 they have overseen a range of developments at the hotel, including the development and refurbishment of the entire hotel and creation of the SEASPA. Throughout the evolution of the resort Bill continuously strives to reach the highest of standards of service, facilities and culinary excellence.

Derry Clarke L'Ecrivain

Michelin-starred Chef Derry Clarke along with his wife Sallyanne have created a real shining star in the culinary lexicon of Irish restaurants in L'Ecrivain. Maurice is owner and manager of Arlington Lodge Country House Hotel in the outskirts of Waterford city. His passion for food and commitment to the vision of Good Food Ireland has led him to chair the Good Food Ireland executive committee. Peter MacCann The Merrion Hotel Dublin                                                                                                                                          

Mr MacCann is the General Manager of The Merrion Hotel Dublin's most luxurious 5-Star hotel, which opened in 1997. Mr MacCann joined The Merrion from The Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare, where he was General Manager. Prior to that he was with the Conrad International Hotel, Dublin.
