Provider Criteria

To become an Approved Provider of Good Food Ireland food and hospitality businesses must meet the Good Food Ireland brand consumer promise. The Good Food Ireland brand standards are based around a core commitment to using local food, supporting Irish farmers, food producers and fishermen.  Approved providers must also operate at a level that is best of their type, where product, service standards etc are also assessed.

All members must uphold a superior food offering or its supply, thus:

·         Demonstrate in a tangible way the link with local artisan partners by highlighting them on menus and offering a local food experience

·         Showcase the taste and flavour of indigenous Irish foods

·         Only serve Irish beef, and ultimately exclusively use only Irish meats and poultry

·         Prioritise the use of the core ingredients of Irish cuisine – lamb, pork and bacon, dairy, fish, seafood, (poultry is currently subject to EU accredited schemes)

·         Prioritise and feature Irish potatoes, vegetables and fruits in season

·         Support and prioritise home baked, in-house cooking/production, handmade items
