The Gift Shop includes a wide selection of gemstones, fossils, clothing, pottery and gifts. Cave tours, birds of prey centre and woodland walks here too. Situated in the heart of the Burren in County Clare lies one of the oldest caves in Ireland. Perched high on its Burren terraced mountain side with what has to be one of the most spectacular views of Galway Bay.

Apple Farm (The)

Moorstown, Cahir, Co Tipperary.

Tipperary’s fertile pastures are ideal for apple orchards and at The Apple Farm in Cahir, owner Cornelius Traas knows that and has made the most of what nature provided for over 40 years. His orchards produce juicy, crisp apples that in turn give their bright, fresh flavours to the handmade and pressed apple juice that Cornelius produces here on the farm.

Ballinwillin House, Mitchelstown, Co Cork combines Farmhouse bed and breakfast accommodation on a working farm. The family rear a herd of free range rare breed pigs, red deer and Kerry cattle, to provide meat for their own artisan products. At Good Food Ireland, we support farmers who are taking their livelihoods into their own hands, and using their commitment, skills and methods to produce meat with sustainable farming methods. Brendan and Derek Allen are doing just that in a big way. The land has been in the family for three generations, and these days the two brothers are putting it to good use to rear their own meats to supply the Castlemines Farm Shop in Roscommon Town which also sells artisan specialties from Ireland.

High Bank Farm

HIGHBANK FARM Cuffesgrange in the heart of the Kilkenny countryside which produces organically grown apples for apple juice products and syrups. Highbank Farm has been growing apples in its orchards in Kilkenny since 1969. This was when the first apple trees were planted at this fifth generation family farm established in the 17th Century, to compliment Ireland’s first hop gardens already on the site. The Calder-Potts family who now own the farm have been growing here for over fifty years. The last ten years have been spent in organic production concentrating on the apple orchards.

Helen Finnegan is somewhat of a new wave Irish cheesemaker, having only been making this wonderful range of cheeses since 2004. That hasn’t stopped her winning awards though, 15 in fact over the past two years! And alongside making her own magnificent Knockdrinna Gold, Meadow and Snow cheeses, she has also taken on the making of Lavistown, a well-established Caerphilly style cheese.
