Frank Murphy Butchers

79 Main Street, Midleton, Co Cork.

Frank Murphy Butchers is a traditional butcher’s shop established in Midleton for over eight generations. Now in the hands of the second Murphy generation, Frank specialises in excellent quality local meats, processed at the family’s own artisan abattoir in the centre of town. His beef comes from a selection of farms always named on the blackboard in the shop and includes breeds such as Hereford Cross, Aberdeen Angus, Black Whiteheads and Hereford Angus Cross, which produce the best tasting beef. This is the real deal, you won’t find much in the way of pre-cut joints or plastic tray selections here, only the choicest cuts from local and free range animals and a great variety of breeds. It’s no wonder Frank is the butcher to the chefs, both Darina and Rachel Allen shop here!
