Irish Piemontese Beef
Blackcastle | Tipperary
Quality Irish Artisian Beef low in fat and cholesterol
Low in fat and cholesterol and extremely tasty and tender, Irish Piemontese Beef is naturally reared on Bord Bia approved farms and is fully traceable from farm to fork.
In 2005, farmers John Cummins from Thurles in Co Tipperary and Michael Fennelly from Stradbally in Co Laois imported purebred breeding stock from the Piedmont region in Italy. Their aim was to offer this healthy product to Irish consumers. This particular breed has a natural gene that keeps it low in fat, cholesterol and calories – lower in fact than in either chicken or salmon. It’s also extremely rich in essential fatty acids and of course, protein.
The animals are reared in the traditional suckler family farm system. During the winter months when they are indoors, they are fed meadow hay. This beef is unique in Ireland and is supplied directly from the farms to your door. Products include rib, round, sirloin, striploin, rib eye and fillets or whole fillets. Roasts include eye of the round, silverside, housekeeper’s cut, brisket and shin. For family meals they supply stir fry steak, steak strips, minute steaks, steak mince, burgers, meatballs and diced beef.
Prices are extremely keen and delivery is free on orders over €100. (A good idea may be to get together with family or friends and place an order). There are family baskets with prices at either €50 or €100. As there are no preservatives or additives in the meat, all mince beef products are supplied frozen.
Ordering couldn’t be simpler, just call Mary on 087 9135349 – and not only will you get a 10% discount on your first order, but Mary is also there to give you advice on recipes and cooking, as the beef has less fat than conventional beef, it requires less cooking time and a lower heat.
