Kinsale Farmers Market takes place every Tuesday 09:00-14:30 in the Church Square Car Park, which is located behind the Garda Station in Kinsale.
Kinsale has long had a reputation for being the gourmet capital of West Cork. It’s Good Food Circle has been active in promoting the culinary reputation of this fishing harbour town. Many restaurants serve locally produced food, and these attract thousands of visitors a year. It’s weekly farmer’s market was established in 2006, and soon began to gather a following from locals and tourists alike. The market takes place in Short Quay, right in the centre of town, and easily accessible for pedestrians.
Stalls in Kinsale Farmer’s Market sell a variety of home made and homegrown goods, providing a serious alternative for regular shoppers who want to make the connection between the food they buy and the people who grew or made it. Check out the superb spice mixes and hot curry to go from East Cork’s Green Saffron and the full to bursting stall of cheesemonger Mark Hosford. Find locally grown organic vegetables, West Cork’s finest fresh fish from Harrington’s, Casey O’Connaill’s lovely chocolate products, and Iain Flynn’s wonderful Flynn’s Kitchen jams, preserves and take away food delights. Kinsale’s Blue Haven restaurant now has it’s own label foods on sale at the market too. And if you fancy some exotic and continental cuisine, there’s Italian ready-made foods, American foods, and a delicious choice of hot crepes to go - if you feel peckish while you shop.
All are welcome!
