The Blackwater river, famous worldwide for the excellence of its coarse and game angling, runs through the beautiful Blackwater valley, in the north of Cork county. And it’s in this luscious valley, with ancient monastic sites and grand estates, that the Old Millbank Smokehouse is situated.
Geraldine Bass established old Millbank Smokehouse in l995 when she began to supply her superb smoked salmon to local restaurants and shops. No artificial ingredients are used, giving the customer nothing less than the purest, most natural smoked salmon.
The concept is based on a traditional family cold-smoking recipe with sweet brines and oak smoke to preserve selected sides of Irish organic salmon to perfection. Each freshly smoked side of salmon is fully hand trimmed, ready to slice and serve.
Old Millbank smoked salmon can be dispatched worldwide, along with your business or greeting card. You can buy it in the farmers’ markets in north Cork and in various good food stores. Simply smoked in a traditional way, this is fine Irish Organic smoked salmon at its best – delicious and indulgent. Other Old Millbank products include hot smoked trout, salmon fishcakes and salmon pâté.
