If there were a prize for the most spectacular restaurant view in Dublin, Aqua Restaurant in Howth would take the title without challenge.
Aqua is housed in the former yacht club-house of Howth since 2000, perched at the very end of the west pier in Dublin’s lively fishing village. This Irish Restaurant is the perfect destination for visitors and locals alike to enjoy delicious Irish cuisine as fresh as it could possibly be.
Aqua pride themselves on locally produced food with their own kitchen garden, daily seafood and beef straight from Lambay Island a close neighbour of Howh. Aqua has earned the reputation of being one of the finest seafood restaurants in Ireland and it is a well deserved accolade.
The main restaurant is located on the first floor of the building with on entire wall of windows allowing a magical view over the water and the neighbouring islands. Sunset is a daily treat enjoyed by diners with a warm glow and a stunning kaleidoscope of colour.
The menu offers the discerning diner a plethora of excellent seafood choices but red meat lovers are also in for a treat with dishes such as ‘Saddle of Wild Irish Venison’ or locally sourced Lambay beef., For sample menus, visit their website at http://www.aqua.ie/menu.asp
The contemporary central bar and relaxed elegant dining area display an array of nautically themed local art and this is no surprise as proprietors Charlie Smith and Richard Clery are both keen sailors. Service is charming and attentive and the early-bird menu offers keen value from €73.50 for two dinners with wine. To make a booking, email dine@aqua.ie or call them on 01 832 0690.
